On Saturday, September 14, 2019, the Keystone House located at 1715 Whitney Avenue in Hamden, CT will host an annual event in memory of Matt Barba, who died on December 16, 2016. This event is a picnic hosted by the men in the sober house, which was Matt Barba’s dream and project before he died. Matt’s Homestead Mission is to provide essential resources to individuals in recovery. We do that by raising awareness about the disease of addiction, and to help individuals continue in their journey of recovery.
In an effort to maximize exposure of this event, we invite you to participate by attending or making a donation. The picnic will be held from 12-4pm on September 14th with a raffle drawing at 2:30pm. A corn hole tournament with prizes will be held. We are excited about this event, and the hope of being able to help many men and women who are currently battling substance abuse. To date we have assisted 200 individuals in early recovery. We have provided assistance with bus passes, basic essential toiletries, groceries and work clothing such as work boots, outdoor construction clothing, shirts/ties and female dress clothing for new employment.
Thank you in advance for your interest and support of this event.
Everyone assisting is a volunteer. All funds go directly to those requesting assistance. Many individuals in recovery will be touched by your generosity and caring.
Warm Regards,
Jennifer Barba, LCSW
